Ex-Oasis star Noel Gallagher has admitted that his long-awaited collaboration with psychedelic rockers Amorphous Androgynous may never actually see the light of day.
Since the split of his old band, Noel soon announced two brand new projects - his new band the High Flying Birds, and an album he’d made with Amorphous Androgynous, a moniker used by experimental duo The Future Sound of London.
The album was finished ages ago and was even slated for a release around the same time as his debut album with the High Flying Birds - but, combining the success he’s seen with that debut, and the fact that he’s previously confessed that the album needs some tweaking, and it seems that it may just never reach our ears.
Speaking to The Sun, Gallagher said: “It was supposed to be delivered the night I did that press conference and I hadn’t been involved in any of the mixing at that point due to being busy with other things. Anyway, it was a toss-up whether to announce it in the first place, but I just thought fuck it, I've done it, let’s announce it.”
He continued: “But since then I've been on the road and because of that I’ve not been in the mixing, and I’m not happy with any of the mixes. They’re going backward and forward so then the plan was to get mixing done after the tour, but this tour has gone on so long that there’s been no time, and that means looking at it next year. But by then I fear the moment may have passed.”
While you may be unhappy at the news, you can still get your Noel Gallagher fix when he tours the UK this September.
