Green Day Fans Being Refused Entry To Exclusive London Show

Some fans queuing outside London's Shepherds Bush Empire today are being told they WILL NOT be allowed entry to the exclusive Green Day show tonight as the credit card holder who bought their tickets is not present.

Green Day fans have queued up outside the London venue - some even camping overnight - since early this morning to guarantee a good view of the band when they hit the stage for a special performance later tonight. However, a Stereoboard source at the event has just revealed that even though fans are presenting the card their tickets were bought with and their ID, the fact that the actual card-holder is not present means ticket-holders are being refused entry to the venue. As stipulated in the terms and conditions when tickets were booked for the exclusive highly sought after show, cardholders must be present to collect wristbands.

A message on the booking site reads: "In order to gain access to the event, the cardholder and their guest need to turn up together at the box office on the day of the event any time from 2pm and produce the card the tickets were booked on and ID. The cardholder and guest will then be wristbanded at the box office. Once tickets are purchased, the name and card details on the order cannot be changed."

However, a source close to Stereoboard comments: "I ordered the ticket for my friend with her card, so she's fine, but she says there wasn't anything about the cardholder mentioned. A lot of people's parents seem to have bought their tickets, they've then camped for the show and about half the line that have been there hours are being told they won't get in. They're all seemingly trying to convince the staff otherwise but so far no shift."

It is also believed that some fans desperate to see the punk-rock trio have been paying hundreds of pounds to buy tickets via online auction site Ebay over the past 48 hours, on the premise the seller would also send over their credit card to ensure easy entry to the show.

@Katieee03 on twitter told us, "I have seen some parents getting wristbands for kids while queueing, but obviously those parents have gone down to the venue."

Green Day will be performing at the 2,000 capacity intimate venue at London's Shepherds Bush Empire tonight, Thursday 23rd August. The pop-punk rockers will also make a special appearance at this weekend's Reading Festival for a set that will see the trio perform their 1994 seminal album 'Dookie' in it's entirety. In addition, Green Day revealed last night, via the Radio 1 Zane Lowe show, that a UK Tour is planned for next year and a concert is already confirmed for London's Emirates Stadium on 1st June 2013.
