Two Door Cinema Club Riding High In Mid-Week Album Chart

Following the release of the their eagerly-awaited new album 'Beacon' on Monday, Two Door Cinema Club are currently riding high in the album chart with a Number 2 mid-week position. The Irish trio have out-sold new releases from the likes of Ronan Keating and Scouting for Girls, and are heading for their highest ever chart position - their debut album 'Tourist History' went in at Number 46 in it's first week, and has since peaked at Number 24.
This week the band have caused chaos in signing sessions around the country with hundreds of fans queuing for hours in advance to get their copies of 'Beacon' signed. They also played an acoustic set at HMV Oxford Street on Monday for 400 fans, and were showered with gifts - hand drawn portraits, cakes, and knitted cardigans!
Kev, Sam and Alex return to London tomorrow to play a sold-out show at Shepherd's Bush Empire, followed by a show at The Academy in Dublin on Friday night, finishing the week at Bestival on Saturday where they play the 8.30pm slot on the main stage.
Two Door Cinema Club recently announced a UK tour for January and February 2013, which sold out in less than a day. Their London date at Brixton Academy sold out in under two minutes, and they've since announced their biggest ever London show at Alexandra Palace for Saturday 27th April 2013. Additional dates in Manchester and Birmingham have also been added to the tour.
