Hospitality Unveil Deluxe Version Of Debut Album - Plus 'Eighth Avenue' Video

Guitar-pop four-piece Hospitality have announced that they will be releasing a deluxe version of their eponymous debut album, as was unveiling a brand new music video for the track ‘Eighth Avenue’.

Fire Records have unveiled a digital only deluxe version of Hospitality's splendid self-titled first record, which was originally released in April. Featuring three acoustic versions of album tracks, the bundle will also include two brand new songs - ‘The Drift’ and ‘Monkey’ - as well as the video for ‘Eighth Avenue’, which you can check out below.

Amber, Brian, Nathan and new drummer David Christian have been playing the songs on the road while touring the US in support of their self-titled debut album. ‘The Drift’ and ‘Monkey’ were recorded live with very few overdubs by Matt Boynton in Williamsburg, and are the first batch of new songs to be recorded by Hospitality as a quartet.

The angular, intricate, and intelligent compositions of Hospitality signal a sophisticated new pop voice. Singer Amber Papini’s idiosyncratic songwriting and incisive lyrics create a moonstruck, even cinematic vision of New York City, where the band formed in 2007. The production by Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, Sleigh Bells) and band member Nathan Michel imbues the entire record with an intimate yet prodigious sound, layering period keyboards with horns, synthesizers, and treated guitars.

The video for ‘Eighth Avenue’ features race cars and tears and was debuted on The Village Voice, who said that the song "pairs well with lead singer Amber Papini's plaintive coo and the song's insistent thrum; the clip tells the tale of a racecar driver (played by Victor Magro) whose hot rod gets particularly juiced when his female sidekick's (Courtney O'Reilly) emotional cup runneth over."
