LA breakout band Capital Cities make their London debut tonight, Tuesday 25th September, when they headline at Monto Water Rats. In celebration of their debut show on UK shores, the fast rising electro rockers are offering you a free download of their fantastically frenetic track ‘Kangaroo Court.’
An unadulterated blast of musical exuberance, the track showcases the style that has led to Capital Cities being them compared to MGMT and the innovation that has seen the duo become widely regarded as the best band to come out of LA in recent years. ‘Kangaroo Court’ is a perfect example of the gloriously thoughtful sound that has wowed fans from as far afield as South America to Germany and Paris.
Capital Cities formed when Sebu Simonian posted an ad on Craigs List looking for a producer/writer to work with. Ryan Merchant answered that ad and the rest is history. The pair worked tirelessly in Sebu’s recording studio, crafting a unique brand of electro-rock quite unlike anything in circulation. The end result is a sound that is truly distinctive and brimming with innovation. ‘Kangaroo Court’ encapsulates the band wonderfully. A glitchy groove-beast, this hook-laiden track will brighten up the most dire day.
