Newport quintet Save Your Breath have announced that their brand new EP ‘Recover’ will hit shelves on November 19th.

ImageAfter releasing their debut album ‘Vices’ in July last year, it seemed things couldn’t be going any better for Save Your Breath. Touring the UK with New Found Glory, appearing at the Reading and Leeds festivals, heading out with Kids In Glass Houses in October and teaming up with Man Overboard and The Story So Far to kickstart 2012. Everything looked like it was finally coming together for the band - until just before the latter tour, guitarist Adam Parslow told the band he would be leaving, following an opportunity they all felt too good to turn down.

Only a few weeks later, drummer Bobby told them he no longer wanted to be in the band. It wasn’t the first time the band had been in this kind of position, but having two of their closest friends leave the band in quick succession was difficult to take. After a difficult discussion and a lot of debating, Save Your Breath decided they needed to get our heads down and move forward.

Long term friend Dave Harries joined on guitar, followed swiftly by Andrew Robinson on the drums. With the intention of only looking ahead, the band set about their next chapter and set of songs that would make up the fittingly titled, ‘Recover’ EP.

“We didn’t know what was going to come out,” confesses bassist Ben Griffiths. “It was a new experience and a new way of writing with new members. The sole intention was to show we’re still here and we won’t give up. The new songs are a lot more personal and the feeling around everything is different. It was either a case of moving forwards or looking backwards.”

The new look Save Your Breath embarked on their first tour together in September 2012, a headline tour of mainland Europe and have returned in their best shape yet. Check out the video for new track 'Maps' below, featuring footage shot on the aforementioned European run.

The band tour the UK in October as main support to A Loss For Words.
