Here We Go Magic Announce Elbow November Support Shows

New York's Here We Go Magic have announced a run of support shows with Elbow in November, following on from their imminent show at London's Dingwalls on the 30th October.

Here We Go Magic were personally invited to support Elbow, as their gregarious frontman Guy Garvey explains: “You fall in love with a band and then find out not only are they coming across to the UK and you get to see them live, but you get to share the stage with them too. We’re overjoyed that they’ve agreed to be our main support and we’re sure our fans will love them. These are important shows to us as we’re going away for a while, so getting ‘Here We Go Magic’ has put the icing on the cake. God I love my job.”

This follows on from the recent premiere of Here We Go Magic's latest video for new single 'Hard To Be Close'. Directed by long-time HWGM collaborators, filmmakers Nat Livingston Johnson and Gregory Mitnick of Peking have put together a fantastic tale of 3 dudes stuck in an elevator for millenia.

Peking says of the video: "This video was years in the making. Friends and idols of Peking, Chuck Stern and Ian of cult NYC Public Access show Roboshithead, made an earlier (and longer) incarnation of this video, titled 'Maximum Capacity'".

'Hard To Be Close' stars the aforementioned Stern as Topher, who discovers over time how to turn his burning jealousy and intolerance into mercy and comradeship. The video also stars John Neails and Rob Frizalone.

The video was shot/stolen entirely on location at the Trump Tower complex in Miami-Dade over the course of one night. "We had a couple brushes with authorities, but we gave them candy and kisses, and that tided them over until the morning," says Mitnick.

Here We Go Magic's current album 'A Different Ship', the sunny and spacious Nigel Godrich-produced record, has been creating waves of critical applause from MOJO to SPIN, Rolling Stone to BBC Music since it's release in May.

Watch the video to previous single 'How Do I Know', directed by Sean Pecknold (Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Grizzly Bear) here.

'A Different Ship' is out now on Secretly Canadian on vinyl, CD and MP3, order it here.
