Azealia Banks Record Sales Increase Following Perez Hilton 'Faggot' Slur

American rapper and singer Azealia Banks has reportedly managed to increase her sales recently - by calling world-famous blogger and super-bitch Perez Hilton a ‘faggot’.
The pair have been embroiled in a war of words over Twitter, after Banks released a diss track against Angel Haze. After Hilton criticised the feuding, taking an anti-Banks stance, the 21 year-old hip-hop star called him a ‘messy faggot’ - as well as ‘dickbreath’.
The comments were met with a lot of negative reaction, and Banks has since apologised - but described her use of the word as a male who acts like a female rather than as a homophobic slur (Banks is bisexual herself).
But, despite the criticism and negative attention that Banks’ comments received, she has actually seen an increase in her record sales - with her ‘1991’ EP seeing 18% more sales than the previous week. Her single ‘212’ has also seen an increase of 3%.
Banks’ debut album ‘Broke with Expensive Taste’ hits shelves on February 12th - keep an eye out for any UK dates the star may line-up in support.
