Eminem To Perform At New Glasgow Summer Sessions Festival

Rap icon Eminem is set to perform at Bellahouston Park this summer, as part of the brand new Glasgow Summer Sessions music venture.

Eminem is coming to Bellahouston Park in August to perform as part of the new Glasgow Summer Sessions.

Chief Executive of DF Concerts and Events, Geoff Ellis revealed the details to stv.tv reporter Laura Boyd: “Glasgow has been waiting for an outdoor festival for a long time. We did Big Day Out with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Foo Fighters and we thought it would be great if we could do a series of shows, rather than just a one off, and have a festival of great music in Glasgow.”

“So the idea is three to five concert in the first year – it’s going to be an annual event – across different genres over a ten day period, so it’s like a ten day weekend but with a maximum five shows and minimum of three this year and we’re so excited cause the first act we’re announcing is Eminem, so that gives you an idea at the scale of artists we’re look at it.

“Eminem is the first we’re announcing – he’s going to play on the 20th August - and the rest will be announced over the next few weeks.”

Geoff, the man also behind the successful Scottish festival T in the Park, also added: “There will be three to four acts on the bill each day, the gates will open around four pm and there will be lots of nice food - a real festival feel.”

Eminem will perform at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, on Tuesday 20th August. Eminem Tickets are on sale from 9am on Wednesday 30th January. Click Here to Compare & Buy Eminem Tickets.

In addition to this new Scottish date, Eminem has also been confirmed as the first headliner for Reading and Leeds Festival 2013, returning to the main stage where he performed 12 years ago. He will also perform at Dublin's Slane Castle on Saturday 17th August.
