ArcTanGent To Partner With BIMM Bristol

Exciting news in that music college BIMM Bristol has negotiated an exclusive music industry opportunity for students to take part in a new local music festival, ArcTanGent, held in Compton Martin (Somerset) in August 2013.

Says ArcTanGent co-founder James Scarlett: “With ArcTanGent we wanted to take the festival template we’ve laid down with 2000trees and have an edgier line up with lots of post-rock and math-rock bands. BIMM Bristol students will have an opportunity to help out in a number of roles from artist liaison and stage management to event management.

I already have some BIMM students helping with booking the line up and I’m even going to book bands from BIMM Bristol to perform at the festival.”

Mark Clayden (BIMM Bristol College Manager and founding member of Pitchshifter) adds: “This is an incredible opportunity for our students to get involved with a ground-breaking festival that will provide an invaluable and unforgettable experience.”

Fellow organiser Goc O’Callaghan adds: “For BIMM Bristol students to be involved with bands of this calibre, just a short distance from where they are studying, is a giant stepping stone into the music industry, providing an invaluable experience that may otherwise have been difficult to secure. By partnering with ArcTanGent, BIMM Bristol students will now have the opportunity to come back and be involved with us year on year, adding to their body of real music industry experience and ultimately putting them in a great place with potential employers and helping to secure future employment in this tough industry.”

BIMM Bristol students lucky enough to get involved with ArcTanGent will be able to witness a stunning line-up that, at this incomplete stage, already includes headliners 65daysofstatic and Fuck Buttons alongside the likes of And So I Watch You from Afar, Future of the Left, Rolo Tomassi and Three Trapped Tigers.

We’re very excited about ArcTanGent here at Stereoboard and would love to take this opportunity to remind you that tickets are still on sale at a ridiculously low price of £59. Snap them up.

ArcTanGent takes place from 29th to 31st August at Fernhill Farm near Bristol. Visit www.arctangent.co.uk for all the info and for tickets.
