The Rolling Stones' Charlie Watts: "I Don't Want To Play Glastonbury"

Charlie Watts, drummer for The Rolling Stones, has revealed that he doesn’t want to play the band’s up-and-coming headline slot at Glastonbury 2013 - because festivals are too windy!

The Stones will rock out on Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage this June, as one of the festival’s three headline acts, alongside Arctic Monkeys and Mumford and Sons. However, while the rest of the band - and hundreds of thousands of music fans - are mega excited for the set, Charlie Watts has admitted he doesn’t really like playing outdoors because his cymbals move in the wind.

“I don't want to do [Glastonbury],” Watts told The Guardian. “Everyone else does. I don't like playing outdoors, and I certainly don't like festivals. The worse thing playing outdoors is when the wind blows, if you're a drummer, because the cymbals move... it really is hard to play then.”

Watts won’t be too happy that the band have lined-up another outdoor gig, this time at London’s Hyde Park - but around 65,000 of you seem to be over the moon about it, with the gig selling out in just three minutes.
