Talented Belgian producer Alix Perez is returning with his second full album in 2013 - and we’ve been given a taste of what’s to come from Shogun Audio’s long-time warrior in the form of new single/video ‘Annie’s Song’.
Perez gifted us a free download last week with ‘Feelings of Regret’ (check that out on his website here), and teasing his fans even futher, he’s unveiled a new track featuring vocalist Sam Wills. There’s a load of wicked remixes to go with it, too - S.P.Y’s is one to look out for!
A step away from the drum and bass genre sees Perez producing an emotional piece of electro-tinged R&B (though it still runs at 170bpm!), and it’s easily one of the most interesting tracks we’ve heard him produce - though we’ll have to wait until later in the year to see what he’s really got up his sleeve.
Picked as Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’, the track has also been accompanied by a brand new video, which you can check out below. Directed by James Lovick and Ore Okonedo, it features a man and woman trapped in separate rooms, complementing the song’s vibe effortlessly. The single’s flip - ‘We Could Have Been’, featuring D.ablo - sees him returning to the liquid drum and bass realm.
Check out the video below - and keep your eyes peeled for Alix Perez’s new album this year!
