M People Announce Live Return With October UK Tour & Tickets

Tuesday, 23 April 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Mercury prize winners M People have unveiled dates for an extensive October UK tour, celebrating the 20th anniversary of seminal album ‘Elegant Slumming’.

M People stepped out of the Manchester club scene and into the spotlight during the early nineties. They quickly became one of the world’s biggest dance acts and released 20 Top 40 singles. The unmistakable voice of Heather Small, as heard in Top 10 hits such as 'Moving On Up', 'Search For The Hero' and 'One Night In Heaven', propelled M People to sell over 11 million records.

M People's 1992 debut album ‘Northern Soul’ was praised as one of the best dance albums of that year and, following the arrival of percussionist Shovell, paved the way for the arrival of the 1993 BRIT Award winning and Mercury Prize winning second album ‘Elegant Slumming’.

This new October tour will be M People’s first full tour in eight years following their 'Ultimate Collection' arena dates in 2005.
