M People are an English dance music outfit hailing from Manchester. Formed in 1990, the group consists of vocalist Heather Small, keyboard-players and producers Mike Pickering and Paul Heard, and drummer/percussionist Shovell.
Known for their soulful brand of house music and general bootie-shaking dance, M People were extremely successful here in the UK - where they achieved three Top 5 albums and multi-platinum discs - as well as picking up fans Stateside and across Europe. Despite entering somewhat of an indefinite hiatus, M People have returned for reunion gigs and tours sporadically, most recently in 2013 where they performed their greatest hits.
