Wednesday, 29 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Beyonce’s massive up and coming ‘Sound of Change’ gig in London - which will feature the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Florence + the Machine, and more performing live - will be watched by a projected audience of over one billion people, according to reports.

The massive gig has been organised by Gucci as part of their ‘Chime for Change’ campaign, which is aiming to raise awareness and funds for female empowerment, and will take place in London’s Twickenham Stadium this Saturday, June 1st. Alongside Beyonce, Lopez, and Florence, the likes of Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Haim, Iggy Azalea, Timbaland, Laura Pausini, and John Legend will all be performing - ensuring that the gig will be one to remember for fans.

It was previously revealed that the show will be broadcast live on television via BBC1, and it’s now also been announced that it’ll be featured on television across the globe - it’s been estimated that over 150 countries and six continents, a massive one billion people will tune in to watch the event, which will be hosted by superstar singer Madonna. Speaking of Chime for Change recently, Madonna said (via PressParty):

“60 percent of the children in the world NOT in school are girls! 2/3 of the world's illiterate are WOMEN! I do NOT accept this. We need to change this and we WILL CHANGE THIS!”

Beyonce has also commented, saying:

“I am really happy that so many amazing artists and presenters have come together to support Chime For Change on June 1. Our goal is to have a great time together while we unite and strengthen the voices of girls and women around the world.”
