Mumford and Sons bassist Ted Dwane has posted a post-op picture to the band’s website, following emergency brain surgery earlier this month.
The musician was rushed to hospital last week, after complaining that he felt unwell for a couple of days. A brain scan revealed that he’d been suffering from a blood clot on the brain. Check out our coverage of the story here.
Although serious, the band revealed via their official website that doctors had reassured them that Dwane would ‘recover quickly’ from the surgery, and promised that he was in ‘excellent care’. And two days later, his bandmate Winston Marshall tweeted that he was recovering nicely.
Now, Dwane himself has taken to the net to deliver a message to fans - and show off his shaved and scarred head. He wrote:
“Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I’m home. Ted xx.”
The band has understandably been forced to cancel three gigs in the US, but they’ve stated that they currently have ‘no plans’ to cancel any other gigs on the tour, and will reschedule the three postponed dates.
This means that their Glastonbury slot - plus what will be their biggest headline gig ever for July, taking place in Hyde Park - will go ahead as planned. If you need Mumford and Sons tickets, check the dates and links below:
