Arctic Monkeys See Ticket Demand Quadruple For Latest Tour Following Glastonbury Performance

The Arctic Monkeys, whose tickets for their latest UK tour went on sale this morning, have seen ticket demand quadruple compared to their last tour. This follows their highly lauded headline slot at Glastonbury, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave.
The Sheffield four-piece, whose hits include I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor and Fluorescent Adolescent, experienced four times the amount of demand when their tickets went on sale this morning, compared to that of the band’s 2011 'Suck it and See' tour.
Louise Mullock, spokesperson for Seatwave, commented: “It seems the Glastonbury effect is giving a real boost to a range of acts right now. Alex Turner and his Monkeys are regarded as one of the UK’s finest live bands right now, so it’s no surprise that their tickets are selling like hotcakes.”
Demand for Arctic Monkeys tickets were so high during this morning's on sale, the band announced that they would play an additional show at London’s Earls Court. The dates will follow the release of the band’s fifth album entitled ‘AM’ on September 9.
The UK dates commence at Newcastle Arena on October 22 and culminate on November 2 in the band’s home town of Sheffield. Support will be provided by the young and talented four-piece the Strypes.
