Dizzee Rascal Reveals Daft Punk And Nile Rodgers Inspired A Track On His New Album

Tuesday, 09 July 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Pop and grime star Dizzee Rascal has revealed that he’s been inspired by Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers, and has a track on his new album infused with their vibe.

The 27-year-old is gearing up for the release of his latest studio album ‘The Fifth’, out in September, and has revealed that one track on the record was inspired by the ‘funky feel’ that Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers are so good at creating.

He told the Daily Star:

“I like that Nile Rodgers, Daft Punk funky feel. I got a track on the new album with that vibe.”

He went on to talk about how he’s created music that works well live, following his recent slots supporting both Muse and the Stone Roses at massive gigs across the UK.

“I've been supporting Muse at stadiums and the Stone Roses at Finsbury Park so I'm well into the big stages. I've been doing the new stuff from my album 'The Fifth' and it's geared towards the live element. I know it works so I know festival crowds will like it.”
