Johnny Flynn Announces New Album And UK Headline Tour

Monday, 29 July 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

Johnny Flynn has announced that his forthcoming third record, ‘Country Mile’, will be released on September 30 through Transgressive Records. A lyric video for The Lady Is Risen, the first single to be taken from the new album, is available now as a free download when pre-ordering the album from the Johnny Flynn Shop or iTunes.

Flynn's new album follows 2008’s ‘A Larum’ and 2010’s ‘Been Listening’. Flynn and long-time collaborator/best friend Adam Beach (The Sussex Wit) chose a very different process to the workmanlike five weeks in a studio of previous albums. They produced it themselves, with Johnny called it 'demoing with intent'.

'Country Mile' tracklisting is as follows

1. Country Mile
2. After Eliot
3. The Lady Is Risen
4. Murmuration
5. Gypsy Hymn
6. Fol-de-ro
7. Einstein's Idea
8. Tinker's Trail
9. Bottom of the Sea Blues
10. Time Unremembered

After a two-year hiatus from the live circuit, Johnny Flynn and The Sussex Wit will tour the UK this October, with support from Marika Hackman and Cosmo Sheldrake. The headline tour will include a date at London’s Hackney Empire.
