Composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi, whose album ‘In A Time Lapse’ hit Number 1 in the Classical charts and Number 24 in the pop charts on its release in January, has revealed dates for a new winter UK tour.
Einaudi’s hauntingly beautiful and evocative music has sold over 1.5 million records and has quietly made him one of the most successful musicians in the world.
In addition to the forthcoming new tour, Einaudi will perform five consecutive shows at London’s Barbican Centre, kicking-off at the end of this month.
Says Ludovico: “I have played many beautiful venues over the years from La Scala in Milan to the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Amphitheatre in Taormina to the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing and each venue has a special magic whether it is the architecture or the acoustics in the room or the ghosts who inhabit it from concerts past. I’m hugely excited to be playing the Hammersmith Apollo because it has rock music in its DNA and many of my heroes have played there. I look forward to treading the boards where Beatles and Rolling Stones have gone before!”
