Dave Hause has premiered a trailer for his forthcoming album, 'Devour', which is expected to land in October.
The Loved Ones' frontman is currently preparing the follow-up to 2011's 'Resolutions', which will be released through Rise Records. Hause took to American Songwriter to discuss the writing and recording process and also revealed a short 'making of' trailer.
“Writing these songs and recording this album were almost completely opposite experiences. The lyrical content on Devour was pretty extreme; I was writing my way through some significant mid-thirties heartbreak, and I was coming to terms with how my own demons — and the appetite that’s hard-wired into American culture — can end up haunting you as you get older. It was a really difficult album to finish. I wanted to find a silver lining, and it took a while to figure out how to end on a hopeful note. That ended up being the last third of the record.”
Joining Hause on the record are Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba, My Morning Jacket's Bo Koster, the Watson Twins, David Hidalgo Jr of Social Distortion and Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison. Hause also stopped by Johnny Cupcakes in London on August 6 to play a free show.
