Drum and Bass Maestro Makoto Returns With New Album Producer 08

Friday, 23 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Japanese drum and bass maestro Makoto makes his highly-anticipated comeback this month, with brand new album ‘Producer 08’ - the latest installment in the Producer series.

The DJ last released a record in 2011, ‘Souled Out’, but this time makes a welcome return to LTJ Bukem’s legendary Good Looking label - with whom he worked with on ‘Believe in my Soul’ back in 2007.

Out on August 26, it’s a sweet collection of 10 liquid jungle beats that only Makoto could have created. A masterful blend of melodic synths and rolling percussion and soul with funk, it’s got that uncanny ability to put you in a dream state yet still keep your feet moving.

It’s Makoto at his usual best, and is the latest in the line of a LPs from LTJ’s Good Looking, following his own new In Session mix and the ‘Collectivism' album that both hit the airwaves earlier this summer.

In the meantime, check out the previews of ‘Producer 08’ below - it’s out in a couple of days as mentioned, and you can grab it here!
