Have Bon Jovi Sacked Richie Sambora?

Friday, 23 August 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

US stadium rockers Bon Jovi may have sacked guitarist Richie Sambora, if sources close to the band are to be believed.

Sambora has been part of Bon Jovi since 1983, but recently pulled out of their world tour citing ‘personal reasons’ (read out coverage of it here), as well as a show in Hyde Park.

Although fans were sad they didn’t get to catch him playing live, there wasn’t any suspicion that there may have been some conflict in the band - but according to a source who spoke to RumourFix, it seems as though Sambora  could have played his last gig for them.

The site claims that the source told them that the band become embroiled in a dispute over money - Sambora reportedly rakes in 20% of the band’s profit (a hefty $2million), while their touring guitarist Phil X earns a paltry(!) $10,000 a show.

They told the site:

“Richie wants to go back onstage – that's his first love. He's really upset over the news.”

The band are just part of the way through their world tour, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens for the rest of the tour. Do you believe the rumours? Leave us a comment in the box below!
