Superstar Britney Spears has released her brand new track Work Bitch worldwide - except for here in the UK!
Unfortunately, UK pop fans will have to wait a little longer to grab the track (a date has yet to be confirmed) but for everyone else, it’s available to download right now. It’s already climbed to #7 on the iTunes chart.
The release date of Work Bitch was pushed forward to today, Monday September 16, after a low quality version of the track leaked online. Spears had given the tune its radio premiere yesterday, with her manager Adam Leber describing the leak as ‘disheartening’, adding that ‘one bad apple had to spoil our release for the entire fan community’.
The premature release comes ahead of tomorrow’s massive ‘top-secret’ announcement, which marks the end of her much-followed countdown timer, which Spears revealed earlier this year. The singer is hard at work on her new record and fans are eagerly awaiting its release, which is expected in the very near future. Highlighting how much effort she really is putting in, her publicist told Digital Spy:
“Britney has been using a vocal coach and going to regular sessions and has also been working hard with her choreographer in preparation for what's coming up! With album eight on its way and a rumoured Las Vegas residency in the pipeline, eagle-eyed fans have spotted that all of Britney's social networks have adopted a blacked-out theme... the mystery continues!”
