Pharrell Williams Teases N*E*R*D Return

Monday, 16 September 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Pharrell Williams has teased a possible return to music for his band N*E*R*D.

Williams has been everywhere in 2013, having featured on a load of smash-hit tracks including Daft Punk’s Get Lucky and Lose Yourself to Dance, Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines and Azealia Banks’ upcoming ATM Jam.

But Williams hasn’t forgotten about his funky alt-rock outfit, N*E*R*D, and hinted that if the material is right then they may well release something together in future.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat about the group - in which he performs alongside Chad Hugo and Shay Haley - he revealed:

“N.E.R.D. is the special thing. You don't just throw that [new music] out there. You take your time and you get it right. That's the opportunity the people afford us. It's not like we sell all the records in the world. We cherish that. We don't abuse it by just throwing anything out. We take the right amount of time, the proper amount of time to give the people what they ask us for.”
