LCD Soundsystem's Pat Mahoney and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig are set to feature on Chromeo’s forthcoming new album.
The Canadian electrofunk duo have been hard at work at their fourth collection, ‘White Women’, and with work almost complete they’ve taken to Reddit to reveal some of the details behind it via another AMA (Ask Me Anything) session.
Responding a variety of fan questions, the pair confessed that they’d worked with a number of musicians, including Mahoney, Koenig, Toro Y Moi and Solange. They said:
“Toro Y Moi, Solange, Ezra Koenig, Pat Mahoney from LCD, the Oliver guys from Fool's Gold.”
They went on to admit that they wouldn’t be jumping on the new EDM bandwagon which is sweeping the nation, as they wouldn’t know how.
“We would [“slip into those poppy edm beats”] if we knew how to produce music like that. We have no idea how it's made!”
As well as the new AMA, the band recently unveiled the first track from their album - and their first new release in three years - Over Your Shoulder. You can check it out below. Keep your eyes peeled for more new Chromeo next month, as a track called Sexy Socialite is expected to drop too!
The guys have also lined-up gigs in London and Manchester for November - check the dates and links below the SoundCloud player to find tickets!
