Kings of Leon have bagged their fourth UK #1, topping the charts with latest LP 'Mechanical Bull'.
The band have surprisingly never managed to reach the top of the Billboard 200 in their homeland, but their latest record has become their fourth consecutive #1 this side of the pond, following ‘Because Of The Times’, ‘Only By The Night’, and ‘Come Around Sundown’.
The Followills beat competition from the likes of Canadian rapper Drake, who delivered his new album ‘Nothing Was the Same’, and Jessie J’s ‘Alive’. Kings of Leon sold over 70,000 records, while Drake was 10k behind - but still managed to earn the title of fastest-selling hip-hop LP of the year.
Arctic Monkeys' massive 'AM' album is still sitting in the Top 10 at #4, and is closely followed by Jason Derulo’s ‘Tattoos’, who completes the Top 5. Avicii, London Grammar, Birdy, Chvrches, and Rod Stewart feature in #6, #7, #8, #9, and #10 respectively.
