Lostprophets Officially Confirm Split

Tuesday, 01 October 2013 Written by Huw Baines

Lostprophets have officially confirmed that they are to go their separate ways.

The band's former vocalist, Ian Watkins, is currently awaiting trial on a string of child abuse charges, including two of raping a baby.

In a post on their Facebook page, the remaining members of the band announced that they would be drawing a line under their time as Lostprophets. They wrote:

To our fans:

After nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time. We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets. Your love and support over the past 15 years has been tremendous, and we'll be forever grateful for all you've given us. As we look forward to the next phase of our lives, we can only hope to be surrounded by people as devoted and inspiring as you guys have been.

Jamie, Lee, Luke, Mike, and Stu

Formed in 1997, Lostprophets released five studio records, their most recent being 2012's 'Weapons'. Four of the five landed in the top 10 of the UK album chart, with total sales of over 3.5million worldwide.
