Kilto Take Announce Release Of Debut Album 'Resolute'

Monday, 14 October 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

With comparisons already nodding to the sounds of early U2, the Cure and Echo And The Bunnymen, Hertfordshire-based band Kilto Take are to unleash their debut album on November 25.

Irrespective of back-stories and circumstances, Kilto Take, comprising singer and guitarist Jon Crosby, bass player Karl Grant, and drummer Lee James Spavins, are about one thing; proper guitar music, delivered with the energy and vitality of the world’s best stadium acts, yet somehow offering a sound that is also intricate and intimate. Despite being born into an industry defined by its fickle nature, their timeless, climactic, dark, brooding indie-rock is not a sound of today, tomorrow, or even yesterday.

"We wanted to make an album of music that grows the more it is listened to and revisited, music possessing substance and integrity that resonated with each of us, sticking to our roots rather than following trends for trend sake. We tried to create something personal to us that holds a lasting quality, and that we hope will remain relevant in years to come. This album is our starting block, not a definitive body of work, more of a rite of passage…a firm basis on which we can build and evolve from," Crosby said.

The band has has seen their dedicated international fan base blossom, BBC Introducing has introduced, the band have toured the UK, headlining and selling out prestigious venues like The O2 Islington, London and Liverpool's Cavern Club; played local and national festivals, and been main support to acts such as Django Django, LOOM, Theme Park, Man Like Me and The Chapman Family to name but a few.

Debut album ‘Resolute’ and new single Defection will be released via Medical Records on November 25. Current single, Mimic, is out now.
