John Newman Beats Pearl Jam & Paul McCartney To UK No.1 Album

John Newman has beaten the likes of Sir Paul McCartney and Pearl Jam to top spot on the UK Albums chart.
Newman, who got his breakthrough after hitting #1 with Rudimental on their track Feel the Love, has reached pole position in the albums chart at the first time of asking, thanks to his highly-rated ‘Tribute’ LP.
The collection dropped via Island Records and Universal seven days ago, and sees Newman delivering his irresistible soul-tinged pop over 11 new tracks, including its two singles Love Me Again (which hit #1 in the UK singles chart) and Top 10 effort Cheating.
“It’s such an amazing thing for an artist to have a #1 album, especially on a debut. It means so much to me and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped make this happen. Can't wait to see everyone on tour next week!”
