Arctic Monkeys Open UK Arena Tour in Newcastle With 20 Track Setlist

Sheffield rockers Arctic Monkeys kicked off their UK tour in style last night, ripping through a 20 track setlist.

The gig - which took place at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena - saw Alex Turner and co. back at their blistering best, performing a career-spanning set to a sell-out crowd, setting the bar high for the rest of their country-wide venture.

Having had the stage warmed-up by rising stars the Strypes, Arctic Monkeys opened with their summertime single Do I Wanna Know?, taken from their latest album ‘AM’,  which became their fifth consecutive UK #1 record last month.

Also included in the setlist was chart-topping debut single I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor, which Turner dedicated to ‘all the Geordie lasses’, as well as crowd favourites such as Dancing Shoes and Brianstorm. Check the full setlist below.

Of course, a variety of their newer tracks were present too, with Why’d You Only Call Me When You're High, One For the Road, Knee Socks, Arabella, and R U Mine included.

Arctic Monkeys head to Manchester Arena for the second date of their tour tonight, before heading to London, Cardiff, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow, and finally Sheffield for a massive homecoming show at the Motorpoint Arena.
