Mastodon to Release Live at Brixton DVD

Wednesday, 30 October 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Atlanta metallers Mastodon are planning to release a new live DVD, filmed at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

The award-winning four-piece hit the English capital on February 11 2012 to round off an epic world tour in support of their latest and fifth studio album ‘The Hunter’. Now they’re working on their next record, but before that hits shelves, we’ll be treated to the 'Mastodon - Live At Brixton' DVD from that very night.

The sold-out performance was Mastodon's very first show at the legendary Brixton venue, with the London audience positively erupting from the opening chords until the final, frenzied encore. Hopefully, there won’t be too much of a wait for their return, but until then, this DVD will keep your Mastodon thirst quenched.

Released on December 10 via Warner Bros. Records, it sees the band ripping through performances of tracks new and old: as well as Black Tongue, Dry Bone Valley, and Curl of the Burl from their latest collection, they played classics like Iron Tusk, Blood and Thunder, and Crystal Skull - check the full setlist below.
