Jay Z Sued Over Alleged Run This Town Copyright Infringement

Friday, 08 November 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Jay Z is facing a lawsuit over his track Run This Town, having been accused of alleged copyright infringement.

The rapper is being sued by TufAmerica, who allege that he sampled Eddie Bo’s 1969 track Hook and Sling Part 1 without permission. Run This Town, which features Kanye West and Rihanna, featured on Jay Z's album ‘The Blueprint 3’.

The Guardian reports that TufAmerica are seeking proceeds from the single, as well as damages, and want to stop “further distribution and exploitation” of the track.

TufAmerica have been involved in legal proceedings with Christina Aguilera, Beastie Boys and West in the past. What do you think of the news? Leave us a comment in the box underneath!
