Within Temptation Announce New Album For January 2014

Dutch symphonic rock outfit Within Temptation have announced plans to release a new album next year.
The band have been working on their sixth studio album since the start of 2012 and have now revealed that the new collection will be called ‘Hydra’. It will hit shelves on January 31, 2014.
Breaking the news via their official website - where they’re also offering pre-orders - the band confirmed that they’ll also be putting out ‘several luxury formats’ of the record.
Speaking of the album’s title, guitarist Robert Westerholt said:
“It’s like us – undefinable! What’s more, ‘Hydra’ is a perfect title for our new album, because like the monster itself, the record represents the many different sides of our music.”
The new collection is also set to feature several guest musicians, including big names like ex-Killswitch Engage singer Howard Jones, Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum and even rapper Xzibit. Westerholt is full of praise for the star, and said of working with him:
“Xzibit is amazing. ‘And We Run’ song is about how you’ve got to live your life now. He’s rapping at full force on this song, it’s really heavy. He brings a new element to our music that we’ve never had before! It’s a new cross-over and we love it!”
