Ian McLagan has dismissed speculation that the Faces will reunite in 2015.
Earlier this month, Rod Stewart told Boston radio station WZLX that he and Ronnie Wood are 'ear-marking' 2015 for a reunion of the band, which also featured McLagan, drummer Kenney Jones and bassist Ronnie Lane, who died in 1997.
McLagan has now confirmed, however, that he is planning on touring with the Small Faces in 2015, having rolled out the Faces in recent years with Simply Red's Mick Hucknall on vocals.
“It’s interesting that Rod announces these things without talking to me or Kenney. Why would we fuck around with the Faces when we’ve got bigger fish to fry? We’ve done the Faces and he didn’t turn up. Rod says he’s keen to do it now, and I believe him. But he’ll have to wait until 2016 because 2015 is the Small Faces’ year.”
