Deftones Post Smile As Tribute To Chi Cheng

Monday, 14 April 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Deftones have unveiled Smile, an unreleased song, to mark the one year anniversary of Chi Cheng's death.

Cheng, the band's founding bassist, passed away on April 13, 2013, having been in a partially conscious state since being involved in a car accident in 2008.

The track has been lifted from the 'Eros' sessions and was posted online by Chino Moreno, with a short accompanying message: "Chi, We miss you today and everyday. -deftones."

Tributes have also been posted on One Love For Chi, while the Buckle Up For Chi campaign, for seatbelt awareness, is ongoing.
