Tony Iommi Confirms Hyde Park 'Could Be The Last Ever Sabbath Show'

Wednesday, 14 May 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has confirmed that the band's forthcoming summer show at Hyde Park could be their last.

The metal legends will headline a bill also featuring Soundgarden and Faith No More as part of British Summer Time on July 4, having released '13', their 19th studio record, last summer.

In an interview with Metal Hammer, Iommi said that his health was a contributing factor, even though the desire to play remained. The guitarist has been receiving treatment for lymphoma since 2012. He said:

"It could be the last ever Sabbath show. I don't want it to be, but there's nothing really planned touring-wise after that show, so for all we know that could be it really. To be honest I don't want to be touring to this extent too much longer, because it makes me feel so bad.”

Also joining Sabbath at Hyde Park are, among others, Motörhead, Soulfly, Wolfmother, Gallows, Bo Ningen, Hell and Rise To Remain.

Black Sabbath Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows:

Fri July 04 2014 - LONDON Hyde Park
