Pink Floyd Speculation Sparked By 'Division Bell' Countdown

Tuesday, 20 May 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Speculation over the status of prog-rock legends Pink Floyd has been sparked by the appearance of a new countdown clock on the band’s Division Bell website.

‘The Division Bell’, Floyd’s last album, was released 20 years ago, with many fans now hoping that the countdown, which has been paired with the Twitter hashtag #TDB20, is for a tour or one-off show announcement.

Pink Floyd headlined the Live 8 event at Hyde Park in 2005, prior to the death of keyboard player Richard Wright, while both Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters - who it’s worth noting had left the band long before ‘The Division Bell’ was released - have been active in recent years, Gilmour releasing ‘On An Island’ and Waters touring ‘The Wall’. The countdown is set to end at 3pm BST.
