The Rolling Stones Release Acoustic Version Of Wild Horses, Discuss Playing 'Sticky Fingers' In Full

Thursday, 02 April 2015 Written by Huw Baines

The Rolling Stones have released an acoustic version of Wild Horses from their forthcoming reissue of ‘Sticky Fingers’.

The legendary British rockers will re-release their 1971 album on May 25, just as they begin a 15-date US tour. Mick Jagger, in an interview with Rolling Stone, has responded to suggestions that ‘Sticky Fingers’ may be aired in full during the run.

The frontman is open to the concept, but has his reservations about the record’s suitability for the task. He said:

“We're floating the idea of playing the whole album. At the very least, we'll play the songs we don't normally play.

“It's a really great album. But it has a lot of slow songs. Normally in a show we'd just do one or two ballads. ‘Sticky Fingers’ has about five slow songs. I'm just worried that it might be problematic in stadiums. Maybe we'd play it and everyone would say, 'Great,' but maybe they'll get restless and start going to get drinks.”
