Brian Wilson Cancels UK Arena Tour

Wednesday, 24 June 2015 Written by Huw Baines

Brian Wilson has cancelled his forthcoming UK arena dates.

The Beach Boy was due to be joined by Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin for shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow, but has pulled the plug “due to commitments in the US” following the release of the Love and Mercy biopic.

Wilson intends to return to Europe in 2016 to mark 50 years since the arrival of the Beach Boys’ ‘Pet Sounds’. Those shows will be his last on the continent. In a statement, he said:

“I’m sorry I won’t be able to make these shows this year, but I look forward to seeing all my fans in 2016 to help me celebrate 50 years of ‘Pet Sounds’. This will be my final European tour. I hope you all enjoy my movie when it opens in the UK on July 10th, I’ll see you all soon, Best Brian.”

Refunds for Wilson’s 2015 shows are available from the point of purchase.
