Laura Mvula has released a new track, You Work For Me.
The song, written by Tobias Jesso Jr, is Mvula's first new material since 2013, when she released her debut album, 'Sing To The Moon'. You Work For Me is being used as part of Guy Ritchie's advertising campaign for his new film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Discussing it, Ritchie said:
"It's not easy to find a new song which matches the power of the classic Nina Simone and Roberta Flack pieces in the film. Laura Mvula has done it with You Work For Me."
Mvula added:
“Being asked to sing in support of a huge movie like this has been pretty amazing and scary all rolled into one. It’s such an incredible film and such an honour to be part of it! The song You Work For Me was a very late addition to this movie campaign - Guy Ritchie heard it and loved it and it’s now being used to promote the film. When we got the news that it was being used we had a dance in the studio...Happy days.”
