Big Ups have shared a new track, Hope For Someone.
The song is the third to be lifted from the New York four piece's sophomore album, 'Before A Million Universes', which is set to arrive on March 4 via Tough Love/Brace Yourself Records. Discussing Hope For Someone, the band said:
"Hope for Someone was one of the first songs written for this new record, and its completion motivated us to write more. Lyrically, as one may imagine, it's a tribute to idealism. The "gardener" in the song is more than just a metaphor; many important people in my life do horticultural or agricultural work, and their diligence has always inspired me. There is so much optimism in creating and maintaining these kinds of spaces, and this sort of work often has pedagogical implications, too.”
Big Ups will play a run of UK and European dates throughout March and April. The new dates are the band's first on these shores since the summer of 2014, which came off the back of their debut LP, 'Eighteen Hours of Static'. Stops include Glasgow's Broadcast, Gullivers in Manchester, the Lexington in London, Headrow House in Leeds, Bristol's Louisiana and the Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham, between March 28 and April 2. Tickets are on sale now.
