Ennio Morricone Confirms Summer Blenheim Palace Date For Nocturne Live

Monday, 29 February 2016 Written by Laura Johnson

Ennio Morricone will play a summer show at Blenheim Palace as part of Nocturne Live.

The Italian composer and conductor played shows in London and Dublin earlier this month, with a completely new programme to mark his 60-year anniversary. Morricone also got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week and picked up Best Original Score for The Hateful Eight at last night's Oscars.

He will head to Woodstock on June 23 for his first UK performance outside of London, with tickets going on sale at 9.00am on March 3. Also set to perform as part of the Nocturne series are the Corrs, supported by Jack Savoretti, on June 24 and Elton John on June 26. Discussing his appearance, Morricone said:

“Performing my work live for people of so many different ages and cultural backgrounds is an incredibly gratifying experience. This year I celebrate my professional career of 60 years, during which I composed over 600 works. On this coming tour I will perform a whole new program with new highlights, which I am already working on. Of course there will always be the classic pieces from the great Sergio Leone westerns and The Mission. But overall the experience will be different this time. I plan to include music from my collaboration with Quentin Tarantino as well as a few works from the Leone Westerns that I have not included on previous tours”

Meanwhile, you can watch Morricone's Oscar acceptance speech and a video of him conducting Neve, from The Hateful Eight soundtrack, below.

Ennio Morricone Upcoming Tour Dates are as follows

Thu June 23 2016 - WOODSTOCK Blenheim Palace
