Ennio Morricone is an Italian composer, conductor and musician from Rome, best known for his work on Sergio Leone films, such as ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’.
Starting his music career in 1946, as a trumpet player, he became a studio arranger for RCA, gaining international fame for his scores for westerns, including 1966’s, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ and 1968’s ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’.
He went on to create critically acclaimed scores for films such as ‘The Mission’ in1986, ‘The Untouchables’ in 1987, and ‘The Hateful Eight’ in 2016, which won him an Academy Award for Best Original Score. He also composed the official theme for the 1978 FIFA World Cup.
He has headlined his own shows and tours across the world, including four stops across the UK and Ireland in 2014 as part of his 50 Years of Music World Tour, as well as shows in Dublin and London and in 2016, alongside a performance at Blenheim Palace as part of Nocturne Live.
