The Julie Ruin Confirm Summer Return With 'Hit Reset'

Monday, 11 April 2016 Written by Huw Baines

The Julie Ruin will return with a new album this summer.

The band, fronted by punk legend Kathleen Hanna, will put out ‘Hit Reset’ on July 8 through Hardly Art, following up 2013’s ‘Run Fast’.

“I was way more honest lyrically on this record because we’d been on the road together and I felt more confident taking risks in front of my bandmates,” Hanna said. “I’ve written about my personal bouts with illness, abuse, sexism and how hard it is for me to walk away from people even when they are toxic Tasmanian Devils before, but not in this way.”

Check out a lyric video for I Decide, which features Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield, below following its premiere over at Pitchfork.
