Meilyr Jones Announces Autumn UK Tour, Posts Video For Strange/Emotional

Meilyr Jones has announced an autumn UK tour and posted a video for his new single, Strange/Emotional.
The song is lifted from his debut album, '2013', which came out in March via Moshi Moshi and boasts performances from a 30-strong orchestra and Lucy Mercer from Stealing Sheep on drums. Discussing the video, director Ryan Owen Eddleston said:
“Meilyr and myself flew to Rome in early spring for a week in order to capture on film the inspiration for the album ‘2013’. We wanted to revisit the places and architecture that had captivated Meilyr’s imagination and creativity during the time he spent in this historic city so rich in culture. We wanted to be inspired just as other artists like Fellini, Visconti, Rossellini and Zeffirelli have been captivated by the city. We wanted to capture that sense of light you can only get from Rome, the sounds and sirens of the city, the food, the music, the wine, the dancing, the people, the beating heart of Roma.”
Jones will play a headline show in Cardiff on May 13 before heading to Wrexham for Focus Wales the following day and Brighton for the Great Escape on May 20. He will also support John Grant at his three UK shows in June, in addition to his appearances at Field Day, Secret Garden Party, Tramlines, Standon Calling, Green Man and End of the Road, among others.
He will hit the road again this autumn for a headline UK tour, calling in Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Leicester, Oxford and Kendal. During the tour he will also make a stop in Margate on September 30 for By The Sea festival.
