Premiere: Clever Thing Join Forces With Photographer Steve Gullick For In A Tissy Video

Clever Thing once described themselves as a sequin ballgown dripping in kaleidoscopic vomit.

Formed from the ashes of Bad For Lazarus, Pink Lizards and the James Cleaver Quintet, the band, fronted by Rich Fownes and Daisy Coburn, cite influences ranging from big-band swing to punk and doom.

It's no surprise that their debut single, In A Tissy, is all over the place. No sooner are you toe-tapping along to the rock 'n' roll-fuelled opening bars than you're being dragged down a psychobilly rabbit hole.

For the track's video the Brighton quartet turned to photographer Steve Gullick, who managed to capture their frantic energy in a psychedelic visual. Discussing the clip, Fownes said:

"The video was completely spontaneous. We had no idea what we were making or what we even looked like together. Everyone here is a bizarre & characterful human, though, so we had a feeling it would turn out fairly...interesting…”
