The song is lifted from the Melbourne duo's sophomore album, 'The Test', which is due out on October 14 via Gross Domestic Product. Discussing it, bassist Benjamin Green said:
“THE MIRROR is both chilly and cosmic. There are glassy synth arpeggios, but the Cindy Lauper beat and the fuzz bass end up getting voted King and Queen of the prom and everyone cries, before a hysterical, slow-burning noise volcano erupts and chaos ensues. It’s perfectly alarming.”
