Merchandise Post Video For Lonesome Sound

Merchandise have released a video for Lonesome Sound.

The song has been lifted from the band’s new record, 'A Corpse Wired For Sound', which is due to arrive on September 23 via 4AD.

Check out the video, directed by the band’s Carson Cox, below. Discussing it, Cox said:

“The video for Lonesome Sound is meant to be a more mythical or classical representation of the lyrics. The Woman as Goddess and the Man as her vessel. The two mime an abstract love story on an empty stage. Television static represents the void and loneliness of Earth where there are other signs of life but are totally incomprehensible. The static is also a symbol of media and the distortion of communication. A silent cowboy whistles Jimmie Rodgers under the moon on a blank Earth. These are the only two witnesses to the shadow play."

Following the record's release Merchandise will play four UK shows, calling in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds between November 2 and 5.
