Stella Parton Confirms January London Show

Thursday, 10 November 2016 Written by Jon Stickler

Stella Parton will perform at London's Bush Hall on January 21.

The country music singer-songwriter will perform songs from her new album, 'Mountain Songbird: A Sister’s Tribute', which features the single, More Power To Ya, a duet with her sister Dolly. The evening will also include stories about the pair's childhood and time spent growing up in the Tennessee Mountains. Speaking about the show and her LP, Stella says:

"I am always excited to perform in the UK, simply because the audience have shown so much respect for my music. I have been asked many times throughout my career to record an entire album of her music, but in my heart and mind, I never felt I could ever do her music or performances justice.  So in the end, while making the decision to record this tribute album of eleven of my favourites, I decided to sing the story songs because they resonated with me the most.

"Dolly has always been my favourite songwriter, although I grew up in a family chocked full of them. It was indeed a daunting task to choose eleven of my favourite songs from a catalogue so vast. I have chosen to sing them as sincerely and respectfully as possible and I hope you can hear that in my humble and honest approach to my sister's beautiful songs. I am pleased and honored to share my sister tribute.".

Tickets are on sale at 9am on November 11, priced £28.50 plus fees.

In many ways, Everclear frontman Art Alexakis is the walking, talking, rock ‘n’ roll-loving embodiment of the American Dream. The idea that success and prosperity can be attained by anyone, regardless of their background, is certainly a wonderful ideal. But it can only be achieved through serious hard graft, a fierce sense of determination and the ability to get back up and keep fighting.
